Hicks Airfield is located about 12 miles North of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. The airport is growing, destined to become a
significant general aviation and business center in north Tarrant County, one of the fastest growing areas in the Dallas/Fort
Typical days at Hicks Airfield yields single and multi-engine aircraft, home-built planes and Warbirds. If you are interested in
plane rides or flight training, they are both available through businesses located at Hicks Airfield, or you can watch planes
takeoff and land from the Beacon Cafe restaurant's deck, if you so desire. Aviation with a neighborhood spirit is the main
theme at Hicks Airfield!
The center piece of the airfield is the hard-surface runway extending 3740 feet long and 60 feet wide, at an elevation of 855
feet above sea level. The airport is lighted with a rotating beacon tower, and three main north south taxi ways, completely
Airport operation is guided by the Hicks Airfield Pilots Association (HAPA). Membership within the association consists of
the property owners at the airfield. Hicks Airfield is a public access airport, but privately owned.
